"To me, photography is an art of observation.
It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place...
I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them."

What to expect

Hi , I'm Jordyn the person behind Jordyn Melby Photography. I am a wedding and portrait photographer based out of Sidney, MT. When it comes to my style I definitely take more of a documentary, lifestyle approach. We will spend a lot of our time doing candid shots but when it comes to posing I always do my best to guide you and even show you what I'm thinking. I'll do my best to avoid the awkward by asking you questions and getting to know you a little bit. You'll probably get a bit of exercise in, so be prepared for skips and jumps and walks all over location. We will have fun and make a memory together. I promise to always let you know of your fly away hairs, if a pose isn't working or if your sweater is all sideways. I want you to look good as much as you want to look good!

We will do a mix of more posed, look-at-the-camera shots as well as some candids. We will wander location to get good variety and give you plenty of options to choose from. If you prefer one versus the other don't be afraid to let me know. I can easily focus on the shots YOU want, that's why I'm here. If you are doing family shots, don't be afraid or embarrassed of the chaos. It makes for beautiful images that are honest to you and your story. Let's be honest, kids will most likely get fussy so we can stop for breaks or I always recommend bringing a snack or bribe treat. We will play and wander around to let out energy. We will tell jokes and just let them be their true selves!
There's always beauty in the chaos.
